A Dutch artist want ‘Allah’ as a trademark

In what can be termed as a controversial move, a Dutch artist has made a bid in order to register the name “Allah” as a trademark, terming it as “incredibly beautiful name”.

Amsterdam resident Teun Castelein told mediapersons that he was amazed why no one up till now has registered the name.

The 32-year-old man is interested in registering the name with the Benelux intellectual property office in The Hague.

However, his attempts are not going to be successful because taking into consideration the registration document, the application was tagged “preliminary decision to refuse”.
