Dhoni bide your time says Ganguly

Facing criticism from all quarters, Indian skipper MS Dhoni finally got a support and that too from former captain Sourav Ganguly.

Ganguly believes that Team India has to cope up with this transition phase.

When asked about Dhoni, he said: “It comes in every captain’s tenure. MS has to bide his time.

It’s easy to comment from outside. You have to give the newcomers some time to settle down. Hopefully, they will do well in couple of years’ time.”

Ganguly is of the view that it is easy for everyone to criticise a captain.

“Captains are always criticised. Even in my time, despite having players’ like Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman, the team took time to settle down. You have to be patient,” Ganguly said.

Regarding 2015 World Cup in Australia, Ganguly believes that likes of Shami Ahmed and Dinda is going to climb up the ladder and enhance their performance in the field.

An in-form Cheteshwar Pujara was not included in the first one day international against England but Ganguly believes he will get a chance very soon.

“I’m sure he would become a part of the side soon. It’s just a matter of time.”
