Gionee M6 and M6 Plus are expected to hit the Indian market in August.

Gionee unveiled two new flagship smartphones – M6 and M6 plus – in Beijing today. The smartphones are addition to Gionee’s Marathon ‘M’ series with focus on long battery life. Gionee M6 and M6 Plus are packed with 5,000mAh and 6,020mAh battery respectively. Gionee M6 can also be used as a power bank. The 1.2A charge current enhances the charging speed by up to 20 per cent as compared to other power banks.

Gionee claims, M6 is the world’s first fully-secure smartphone. The Chinese variant of M6 comes with an encrypted chip to secure a user’s personal data on the device. M6, for other countries, is equipped with fingerprint scanner, privacy protection and malware destruction. Gionee M6 and M6 Plus are expected to hit the Indian market in August.

Gionee M6 features an aluminum unibody design and a 2.5D glass. It is 8.2mm thick. Gionee M6 features a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display. It is powered by MediaTek MT6755 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM (expandable up to 128 via microSD card). Gionee M6 sports a 13 MP rear camera with Sony IMX 258 sensor and an 8MP front camera. It runs Amigo 3.2 OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Gionee M6 is a dual SIM smartphone that supports two micro SIM cards. The 128GB variant of M6 is priced gloablly at 2899 Yuan (Rs 29,229 approx) and the 64 GB variant comes at 2699 yuan (Rs 27,212 approx). The smartphone is available in gold and latte gold colour variant. The dimensions of the device are 152.3 x 75.3 x 8.2mm.
