Kabali audience review: Rajinikanth delivers inspiring, entertaining, superhit performance

Kabali audience review: With multiplexes packing enough screens to beam Kabali and single screens already booked till Sunday, Rajinikanth looks all set to laugh his way to the bank.

What happens when God aka Rajinikanth decides to release his movie Kabali in India? Cinemas open at six in the morning even in Mumbai to screen the first show. And it was nothing short of mayhem at Aurora theatre here in Mumbai as fans queued up as early as 4 am kickstarting the revelries. The theatre bore a festive look as it was decked in giant cut-outs of Rajini. Soon enough, this single-screen cinema buzzed with frenetic activity as Rajini fans, both young and old alike, thronged the theatre dressed in their traditional best all set to cheer for their favourite god, Rajinikanth. And not surprisingly, Thalaivaa delighted, inspired and entertained his fans to the core.

Viewers we spoke to looked awestruck as they exited the cinema hall thoroughly delighted after watching Rajini’s histrionics in Kabali. The Tamil megastar made sure to sprinkle enough of his class and trademark dialogue delivering style in Kabali to keep viewers hooked. The plot too was well-received by the masses. Not many bothered about the supporting starcast of Radhika Apte and Dhansika as Kabali was an out-and-out

Rajinikanth show right from the word go.

While masses lined up outside Aurora theatre for the first show, we were pleasantly surprised to spot a familiar face in the crowd in the form of Madhur Bhandarkar. The National Award-winning director made it in time for the second 9 am show.

Speaking exclusively to Indian Express.com, Madhur said, “I wanted to watch Rajini sir’s movie at Aurora where you get real feel of all Rajinikanth movies. I am expecting nothing but pure massy entertainment from Kabali. For someone who can generate such massive buzz without even lifting a finger for promoting his film in Mumbai, imagine what the atmosphere would be in Chennai. I reckon the movie crossing the 300 crore mark with ease.”

With multiplexes packing enough screens to beam Kabali and single screens already booked till Sunday, Rajinikanth looks all set to laugh his way to the bank. However, it remains to be seen if this film will break the box-office records of his previous outings.
