India summons Pak envoy over killing of jawans

India today said that it will “convey its protest” to Pakistan regarding the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani troops.

“We will convey our protest to the Pakistan government and our Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) will talk to his counterpart in Pakistan,” pointed out defence minister A K Antony.

“We are closely monitoring the situation,” he said.

Antony termed the killings by Pakistani troops “highly provocative. The way they have treated the body of the Indian soldiers, it is inhuman”.

On the other side,  external affairs ministry has summoned the Pakistan high commissioner Salman Bashir.

“We will take this up very firmly with the Pakistan government,” said external affairs minister Salman Khurshid while talking to the media.

Khurshid said the killing and mutilation of the Indian soldiers was quite a sensitive matter and a matter of great concern to everyone.

“These are matters on which every dimension has to be examined very carefully before we say what we propose to do,” he said.
